The Osiris Group is a Greater Boston behavioral health organization with a singular focus: delivering culturally competent clinical services to Black, Latino, and urban communities. We believe that being culturally competent when working with Black people is more important than being professionally educated — and we carry that conviction into every aspect of our internship program.
Our interns don't just fulfill their hours. They develop as practitioners who understand the urban psyche, who build genuine therapeutic relationships across difference, and who leave equipped for careers in high-need community settings.

Supervision Structure
How We Support Your Students
Our supervision model is designed to meet the field education requirements of accredited MSW and CMHC programs. All supervision is conducted virtually via Google Meet for maximum accessibility and flexibility.
Each intern receives regular one-on-one supervision with a licensed Clinical Supervisor, focused on case review, skill development, and competency progression aligned with your program's field education requirements.

Team-Based LearningPlacement Tracks
Two Program Areas for Intern Placement
Students may be placed within one of our two active program tracks, depending on their year of study, program requirements, and available openings each semester.
In-Home Therapy
Intensive, community-based intervention for children, adolescents, and families in crisis.
- ► Structured, family-focused, strength-based services for youth ages 20 and under
- ► Services delivered in the home and community environment
- ► Wraparound model pairing the intern with a bachelor's-level TT&S worker
- ► Skill areas: problem-solving, communication, limit-setting, and safety planning
- ► Focused on reducing hospitalization risk and out-of-home placement
Outpatient Services
Comprehensive behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and adults in a clinic setting.
- ► Individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy
- ► Presentations include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and substance use
- ► Primarily serves MassHealth members — accessible, high-need population
- ► Crisis support and care coordination experience available
- ► Diverse client demographics across the lifespan
Learning Objectives
What Interns Will Learn
Our internship is designed to produce clinicians who are not only technically skilled but culturally grounded. Below are the core competency areas developed across both program tracks.
In-Home TrackOutpatient Track
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments with individuals and families
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Apply evidence-based and strength-based therapeutic interventions
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions
- Perform crisis risk assessments and safety planning
- Understand the cultural conditioning of the African American urban psyche
- Integrate cultural context into assessment and treatment approaches
- Navigate cultural dynamics within therapeutic relationships
- Recognize systemic factors impacting the mental health of Black and Latino clients
- Apply the NASW Code of Ethics and ACA ethical standards to clinical practice
- Engage in reflective practice through individual and group supervision
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain professional documentation including clinical notes and treatment records
- Develop a professional identity as a culturally competent clinician
- Understand community-based models of care delivery
- Connect clients to community resources and coordinate care
- Engage families in their natural environments (In-Home track)
- Navigate public behavioral health systems including MassHealth
